This is the story of the rescue of concentration camp prisoners on a death march by several citizens of Ergoldsbach highlighting the often forgotten acts of Widerstand by ordinary citizens during the Nazi era. The publication, sponsored by the Weiße Rose Stiftung and the Historical Society of Ergoldsbach shows local history from 1933-1945, the biographies of the citizens, and the day by day chronicle of the actual rescue. In addition to the text, the package contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and maps. Also included is a DVD in which John Weiner, one of the Jewish survivors, tells his story in German.
